No dog is perfect though — if you're unsure, just reach out for a friendly chat and we can explore things together. 🩺 Health & Safety • Vaccinations or Titre Tests — All dogs must be fully vaccinated, including kennel cough, or have up-to-date titre test results. • Flea & Worm Protection — Dogs should follow a regular treatment plan to help us maintain a clean and healthy space for everyone. ⚖️ Size, Neutering & Energy Levels • Small Companion Breeds — We specialise in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and similar small, gentle breeds, typically under 25kg. Calm, well-socialised dogs slightly outside this range may occasionally be considered if they suit our relaxed group dynamic. • Neutering — Calm, friendly neutered dogs usually integrate best into our small group. Younger dogs who have not yet been neutered may be considered while behaviour remains settled. We are unable to accommodate entire adult males or females during their season. • Energy Levels — Most of our dogs have low to moderate energy levels. Livelier personalities are welcome too, provided they can settle during quiet times and adapt to a calm household routine. 🧠 Behaviour & Training • Sociable & Friendly — Dogs who enjoy gentle companionship with people and other dogs usually settle beautifully. • Calm Indoor Behaviour — We look for dogs who can relax indoors, manage their barking, and interact politely with others. • Play Style — Relaxed, friendly play such as sniffing, pottering, or gentle games works best in our environment. Dogs who can naturally soften their energy tend to thrive here. • Basic Training — Dogs who respond to simple cues such as come, sit, or stay usually find the routine easier. We’re happy to support those still learning if they are friendly and responsive. • House-Trained — Dogs should be reliably toilet trained before joining us. Occasional accidents can happen in new environments, but frequent marking or indoor toileting isn’t suitable for a home setting. • Safe Around Others — To keep everyone safe and relaxed, we cannot accept dogs showing aggression, persistent bullying behaviour, or resource guarding. 🏡 Home Adaptability • Stairs & Flooring — Our home includes stairs and hard floors. Dogs should be comfortable navigating these or able to manage with gentle support. • Car Travel — We visit a secure private dog park daily. Dogs should be comfortable travelling in the car and able to enter safely. Pause days are prorated depending on when you join. • Swap Days Need to move your regular day? If your regular day falls on a bank holiday you may: ✔️ Reschedule within 7 days (with notice) ✔️ Skip that week without charge (with notice) ✨ Festive & Bank Holiday Surcharges A small surcharge applies only if care is provided on the day itself: 🎄 Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year’s Day – 100% 🎁 Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve – 50% 🌼 All other bank holidays – 50% Surcharges are only applied if your dog attends on that specific date — you’re always welcome to skip that week or move your usual day (subject to availability). 🛏️ Boarding for Wagging Trails Dogs £40 per 24 hours (weekdays) | £45 per night (weekends) Home boarding is available for our regular day care dogs, with limited availability for suitable small dogs who are a good fit for our calm environment following a successful meet and greet. Weekly members receive priority booking access and may reserve stays well in advance. 🐾 Overnight Stays Between Consecutive Day Care Days Where regular weekly dogs attend on two or more consecutive day care days, an overnight stay between those days can be included at no extra charge where this supports their routine and avoids an additional collection and drop-off. Many dogs settle even better this way as it keeps their routine consistent and uninterrupted. This helps confirm: ✔️ Group compatibility ✔️ Ability to settle indoors ✔️ Comfort away from home ✔️ Suitability for our calm environment 💤 Step 4 – Trial Overnight (for Boarding Dogs) For dogs planning to board, we then arrange a trial overnight stay (24 hours). Weekend Day Care Weekend care is primarily reserved for our regular weekly members and boarding guests. Occasional weekend sessions may also be arranged for trial visits or where needed to support a dog’s introduction process, subject to availability. A weekend premium may apply. Overnight Boarding (7 days a week) Drop-off & collection windows: • 7:00–9:00 am • 11:00 am–1:00 pm • 4:00–6:00 pm (collection only) Boarding is charged on a rolling 24-hour basis from the time of drop-off. Collections beyond the 24-hour period may incur an additional day care charge. Home boarding is primarily for our regular day care dogs, with limited availability for suitable small dogs who are a good fit following a successful introduction process. 📖 Booking Policies Day Care Weekly day care places are secured on a monthly basis, giving your dog stability and a consistent place within their familiar group. Regular members receive priority access to boarding bookings. Boarding Bookings Regular weekly members may book up to 12 months ahead. New families should allow approximately 6–8 weeks where possible to complete introductions and a trial overnight stay. If a date is full, we’re happy to add you to our waiting list. 💳 Payment Terms Day Care Invoices are issued on the 1st of each month for that month’s sessions. Payments are collected automatically via Stripe using your saved card details. Home Boarding Bookings of 3 or more nights require a 50% deposit to secure the stay. The remaining balance is taken on the 1st of the month of your dog’s stay. Cancellations made with sufficient notice are handled in line with our Terms & Conditions. Pre-arranged late collections: • 6:15 – 7:15 pm — £10 • 7:15 – 8:00 pm — £15 emergency late collection After 8:00 pm, your dog will move into an Emergency Overnight Boarding Stay (£50) with collection the following morning between 7:00–9:00 am. These boundaries help protect the calm home environment and ensure every dog receives the right level of care.

For day care, we usually only need the essentials unless food is required for medical reasons. Dogs should arrive clean and reasonably dry to help maintain a healthy shared environment. 🍽️ Feeding Policy Day Care Dogs Meals are not normally provided. We recommend feeding before arrival and again once your dog returns home, unless a medical feeding routine is required. Boarding Dogs We follow your normal feeding routine using the food you provide. Meals are typically given outside peak day care activity times to help maintain a calm group environment. Water & Treats Fresh water is always available. With your permission, we may offer occasional treats as part of calm enrichment and positive reinforcement. 💤 Where Your Dog Will Sleep (Boarding) We aim to mirror your dog’s usual home routine so they feel relaxed and secure. Depending on what suits them best, dogs may: • Sleep in their own bed from home or one of our comfortable dog beds • Rest in an open crate if they prefer a cosy den space • Sleep in our bedroom or a quiet sleeping area • Occasionally sleep on our bed if this is their normal routine or they need reassurance Bedtime is always calm and predictable to help dogs settle naturally. During the day, dogs are free to rest wherever they feel most comfortable — whether that’s a sofa, dog bed, or a quiet corner for a peaceful snooze. 💊 Medication Administration We’re happy to administer vet-prescribed medication. Please ensure: • Medication is clearly labelled with your dog’s name • Dosage and timing instructions are provided • Any special instructions are discussed at drop-off Medication is administered carefully and monitored as part of our normal care routine. 🏥 Illness or Injury If your dog becomes unwell or injured while in our care: • We will contact you immediately • If necessary we will contact your emergency contact • Veterinary treatment will be sought if required We will normally use your registered vet or our trusted local practice V For Vets if urgent care is needed. Yes — for safety and licensing reasons, all dogs in our care wear a Wagging Trails collar fitted with identification tags and a GPS tracker while with us. This helps ensure every dog remains safe, identifiable, and secure at all times — whether moving between the house and car, visiting the dog park, or relaxing at home. 🐾 Why We Use Wagging Trails Collars We completely understand that many families have their own preferences for collars or trackers, and your dog is always returned wearing their usual equipment. We understand that plans can sometimes change. Our cancellation policies are designed to be fair to families while also protecting the small, carefully balanced group environment we maintain for all dogs. Here’s how cancellations and changes work depending on your booking type: 🏡 Home Boarding Bookings of 3 or more nights • Less than 7 days’ notice → 100% of the booking fee applies • 7–13 days’ notice → 50% of the booking fee applies • 14+ days’ notice → Full refund or the option to rebook Short stays (1-2 nights - no deposit required) • 7+ days’ notice → Cancel without charge • Less than 7 days’ notice → Full fee applies Because spaces are very limited, late cancellations are difficult to refill at short notice. 🐾 Weekly Day Care Bookings Pause Days Each family receives a set number of pause days per calendar year (prorated depending on when you join).
